About Our School

Welcome to the website for Fritchley Primary School.

At Fritchley School we learn and achieve together within a safe, respectful and welcoming Christian community. Our children’s spiritual and moral development is nurtured by our values, enabling them to fulfil their potential and giving them the confidence needed to be lifelong learners and problem solvers in the wider world.

Karin Baker

Head teacher

It is with great pleasure that we announce, following our recent OFSTED inspection on 4th and 5th of December 2014, that the school is now judged to be a GOOD school in all areas apart from within the Early Years and Foundation Stage, where it is judged to be OUTSTANDING!

‘Provision for children in the early years and Year 1 is outstanding because activities are imaginative and stimulating.’

     ‘Ofsted December 2014’

We have worked tirelessly to drive rapid improvement at the school so are extremely pleased with these outcomes and would like to thank all of our parents, for their honest and supportive comments and for their continued support of the school.

We continue to work hard, as a dedicated team, to drive further improvement, to ensure that the children at Fritchley School continue to receive the very best in education.

‘Leadership and management are now strengths of the school.’

‘Ofsted December 2014’

We look forward to working closely with all our stakeholders to further develop the school, for the benefit of our children and for the whole community.

‘Provision for pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is a strength of the school and helps them to become caring young citizens.’

Ready for School in Derbyshire

Please could you help us to help children and families by filling in our survey on what is meant by being ready for school in Derbyshire?

If children are school ready, they have a flying start that gives them the best chance to learn, play, socialise, be happy and grow. But do we have a definition for school-ready?

Only by defining what we all mean by school ready can the activities we plan to help children be school ready have focus and uniformity across Derbyshire, identifying goals we can work towards, for the benefit of children, parents and carers. We want to hear from parents, families and people who work with children.

Your answers will be confidential. We would also like you to spread the word and let other people know about the survey.

The ‘Ready for School’ survey will help us to have a Derbyshire definition so that the activities we plan to help children have focus and uniformity across the county. The survey will be filled in by parents, childminders, teachers and pre – school practitioners, health professionals and Children’s Centre workers. In fact everybody who lives and works with 0-5 year olds!

The outcomes of the survey will help all of us to identify the goals we can work towards, so more children are ready to learn happily when they start school.
