Derby County in the Community

We work with Derby County Football Club through their “Derby County in the Community” programme. Staff from the club come into school and deliver skills development clubs after school on Thursdays

School Sports Partnership

Our school works closely in partnership with Amber Valley Sports Partnership who provide a highly trained coach to work alongside our class teachers to deliver high quality P.E. sessions in school. The coach also provides an after school club on Tuesday afternoons.

Homework Club

Each Wednesday after school, Ms Baker runs a homework club from 3:30 – 4:30. During this session, children can complete their homework with the specialist support of a teacher. It’s an ideal time for children to get their homework done and if parents would like to attend with their child to learn more about the homework and the systems we use in school, they are more than welcome. Please contact the school office or speak to your child’s teacher if you’d like your child to attend this club.

Code Club

Monday night is Code Club night! Mrs Devonport runs an award winning club to teach children how to code their own computer games and animations. The club alternates between years 5 and 6 one term and 3 and 4 the next and runs each Thursday from 3:30pm – 4:30pm. If your child would like to attend Code Club, please contact Mrs Devonport.

  • Single 20 minute lesson £8.00
  • Shared half hour lesson £7.00
  • Single half hour lesson £12.00

Places are available for children right from Reception to Year 6.If possible, parents are asked to pay for five lessons in advance and we ask that pupils commit to at least a half-term of lessons. Lessons are not charged for if your child is ill but if possible, an alternative time is arranged.

If you would like your child to start instrumental tuition, please speak to the school office.

Years 4, 5, and 6 also take part in the Wider Opportunities Programme from Derbyshire Music Partnership and are presently learning to play the violin.
